Welcome! I am Valery Makovojs (Валерий Маковой) - a professional artist, specializing in watercolor painting, graphics, oil, acrylic paintings all my life.

This is not just a hobby, but my mission in this world. I put my soul into every single stroke, in each dab. Only inspiration helps me to create soul paintings and makes my hands to draw alive plots.

Biography.

Born in 1953 in the settlement Belaya-Berezka in Bryansk region of Russia. Graduated from Latvian Academy of Arts in 1983 as a graphics-artist-lecturer.

I worked as a leading designer for a famous perfume and cosmetics company "Dzintars" in Latvia. 
Also in the field of books illustrations, collaborating with Latvian publishing houses, and since 1995 with Kaliningrad's printing company - "Yantarni skaz", where I created artwork to more than 60 books.

​During my career I was lucky enough to teach many kids and adults how to draw and create paintings in many different art techniques. It is a pleasure to pass my knowledge to people interested in art and see ther amaizing results: few of them quite major - 2 grand prix on the biggest exhibitions in the country for joung artists.

I travelled a lot for inspiration, visited the Altai region, Karelia (Russia), Georgia and Abkhazia, Crimea, Ukraine, Belarus, Spain and in 2007 enchanted by Irish nature and I visited this amaizing country twice every year. Now i am living here.

​In 2008 I opened a personal exhibition - "The mood of nature" at Moscow House in Riga. That was based on my trips and contained 60 artworks of various styles like watercolours, acrylic and oil paintings, decorations, graphics, carvings and book illustrations. Participated in almost 80 exhibitions to date, 21 of which were personal and 23 international.

I am very glad that my works are held in private collections in USA, Ireland, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, England and Israel.
